Have you read any other versions of this story... such as the one on CNN or abcnews? Because this story leaves out some important information. And it's all pretty sad. What's saddest is her boyfriend knew she had a phobia (stemming from childhood abuse) that was escalating and was too insecure to get her help. He must have been terribly stepped on in his youth as well to have so little self-esteem.

I dunno who I'm more appalled with her for doing it (she obviously has...issues) or the boyfriend for letting it go on and not calling anyone.

For the record, the subject line of this post is wrong. The woman began going into the bathroom about two years ago and staying longer periods of time each time until she finally stayed. She didn't sit on the toilet for that long. She moved around, bathed and changed clothes. She felt safe in the bathroom. It sounds like a severe case of Agoraphobia.

She didn't retreat to the toilet until about a month ago they estimate.
